Port Jackson contains Sydney Harbour and is the city’s natural habour. Measuring 19 km long with an area of 55 sq km, this spectacular area is home to the Sydney Harbour Bridge (1932) and Opera House (1973). It was discovered by Lt James Cook (1770) and named after Sir George Jackson, Judge Advocate of the Fleet. It includes a number of islands such as Fort Denison, Shark, Cockatoo & Goat.
